RIYADH — Saudi Arabia on Friday recorded 822 new coronavirus infections over the past 24 hours as daily cases continue to decline, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health. The ministry also announced 33 more deaths resulting from complications caused by the virus. This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 infections in the Kingdom to 319,141 and the virus-related fatalities to 4,015. Jeddah and Makkah reported the highest daily detected cases on Friday with 48 new infections each, followed by Dammam with 45, Riyadh with 41 and Madinah with 40. The rest of the new cases were scattered in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom. According to the ministry, a total of 1,099 COVID-19 infected patients, have recovered, pushing the total number of recoveries in the Kingdom to 295,063 and the recovery rate to 92.54 percent. The active cases also continued to drop drastically with 20,063 cases are still under treatment in the country, out of which 1,484 are critical.
