RIYADH — Saudi Arabia recorded 2,994 new coronavirus infections on Saturday, with a further 2,370 COVID-19 patients recovering and 30 more people dying from the disease, according to the Ministry of Health. The slight drop in new infections is being noticed for over a couple of days. On Friday, the number of cases were 3,159 as against 3,183 infections on Thursday. The total recoveries in the Kingdom now stand at 165,396 and the death toll at 2,181. There were 285 new cases in Riyadh. It was followed by 226 infections in Hufof, 221 in Jeddah, 211 in Dammam, 158 in Mobarraz and 152 in Taif. Cases in Makkah and Madinah significantly dropped to 88 and 77, respectively. The other cases were recorded in the governorates and provinces across the Kingdom, a ministry of health spokesman said.
