RIYADH — Saudi Arabia on Wednesday said 3,221 COVID-19 patients have recovered during the last 24 hours. It also recorded 3,036 new cases of the deadly coronavirus during the same period, raising the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 220,144. Forty-two new deaths were also reported. With this, the total recovered cases in the Kingdom stand at 158,050 and the overall fatalities at 2,059, a spokesman of the health ministry was quoted by Saudi Press Agency (SPA) as saying. There are 60,035 active cases in the country, the ministry said, of which 2,263 are critical. Riyadh recorded 288 new infections. It was followed by 243 cases in Jeddah, 187 in Taif, 171 in Hufof, 142 in Makkah, 141 in Khamis Mushayt, 133 in Dammam, 122 in Mobarraz and 117 in Madinah. The rest of the cases were reported from other regions and governorates of the Kingdom, the spokesman added.
