ABU DHABI — The United Arab Emirates on Tuesday registered 421 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 48,667, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health and Prevention. The new COVID-19 patients, who are in a stable condition receiving all necessary care, were identified after the ministry conducted more than 63,000 additional coronavirus tests. The ministry has been expanding the scope of testing nationwide for the early detection of COVID-19 cases and to help the UAE's medical professionals carry out necessary treatment for all patients. The ministry also announced one death as a result of COVID-19 complications, taking the total number of fatalities in the country to 315. The ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the families of the deceased and wished all coronavirus patients undergoing treatment a speedy and full recovery. The ministry added that an additional 490 individuals have now fully recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries in the UAE to 37,566.
