ABU DHABI — A total of 822 new coronavirus cases and three death were reported in the United Arab Emirates on Monday, bringing the total number of the cases and fatalities to 30,307 and 248 respectively, the country's Ministry of Health and Prevention said in a statement carried by WAM. The new cases were discovered after the health authorities carried out as many as 41,202 tests. The ministry also announced that 601 patients have completely recovered after receiving the necessary treatment, raising the total number of recoveries to 15,657. The offered sincere condolences and to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery of all active cases who are of different nationalities. UAE's Health Minister Abdul Rahman Bin Muhammad Al-Owais, who was also present during the daily coronavirus press briefing, said that total number of tests carried out in the country exceeded two million, specifically 2,044,493 examinations, within the national plan to increase the number of tests for the purpose of early detection. He lauded the efforts of the health "heroes" who are on the frontlines of the coronavirus crisis. The minister said: Our goal is to be proactive in detecting more cases, and to limit the spread of the virus in the country, and we are at an important stage in dealing with the virus and its containment is everyone's responsibility. He called on the public to continue to cooperate with healthcare workers.
