RIYADH — Saudi Arabia reported 1,704 new coronavirus cases and 10 new deaths, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 37,136 and the virus-related death toll to 239, the Ministry of Health announced on Saturday. The Kingdom has witnessed 1,024 recoveries, bringing the number of total recovered cases in Saudi Arabia to 10,144. Makkah with 417 cases topped the list on Saturday, followed by 316 in Riyadh, 265 in Jeddah, 112 in Madinah, 111 in Dammam and 107 in Taif. There were 67 cases in Jubail, 54 in Al-Khobar, 38 in Jadeedah Ar'ar, 33 in Hadda, 23 each in Hufof and Al-Kharj, 20 in Diriyah, 18 in Buraidah, 15 in Qatif and 12 in Tabuk. Additionally, there were nine cases in Safwa, seven each in Ras Tanura and Yanbu; six each in Mahayel, and Dhahran,; five in Baish; four each in Nairyah and Qurayyat, three in Mulayjah; and two each in Majardah, Khafji, Bqeeq, and Bisha. The rest 14 cases — in one place — were recorded in 14 different cities and towns across the Kingdom. Meanwhile, the Kingdom has eased the coronavirus restrictions in some Madinah neighborhoods allowing residents to leave their homes between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., according to the Ministry of Interior. The decision follows a recommendation by health authorities that restrictions be relaxed in areas like Al-Shouraybat, Bani Dhafar, Qurban, Al-Jumuah, and parts of Al-Iskan and Bani Khidrah. A ministry spokesman said that the public response to remaining restrictions will be monitored and evaluated by health authorities, and called on people to abide by these measures to ensure public safety.
