RIYADH — Minister of Health Tawfiq Al-Rabiah thanked Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, for his meticulous follow-up and great support in tackling the emergency situation arising out of the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic. "Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman has sacrificed many economic gains in order to confront coronavirus," he said while emphasizing that there has been great harmony among various government sectors under the leadership of the Crown Prince to confront the crisis. The number of people infected with coronavirus has doubled this week, Al-Rabiah said while voicing concern over the rapid rise in the number of cases in labor camps. "We have noticed an increase in coronavirus infections in the accommodation of workers and we called upon them to apply the highest degree of precaution. There has also been an increase in the number of infections in densely populated neighborhoods," he said. He called upon the people to comply strictly with the directives to stay in their homes. The minister said that there is a committee, co-headed by Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Minister of Industry, which is making great efforts, and I assure everyone of the government's support in implementing the highest precautions in labor camps," he said while hoping that everyone would adhere to the instructions. "If we all adhere to the instructions, we will reach safe land." Al-Rabiah confirmed that there is still no treatment and vaccine for the coronavirus. "We have medical protocols in the Kingdom to deal with the virus," he added.
