Speakers hog the limelight at Division-K Toastmasters event

JEDDAH — Speakers regaled the gathering with their articulate, inspiring and extempore speeches in the Division-K 6th annual contest here, recently.
The theme of the contest was "Celebrating Success with Values" .
The chief guest was the District Director 104, DTM Abdullah Filmban and keynote speaker was former District 79 Director DTM Dr. Soliman Al Madi. Guest of honor was Deputy Consul General Chad, Abdulkader Manamat.
DTM Abdullah congratulated the Toastmasters of Division K on successful contest and invited delegates to the first-ever free of charge SATAC at Taif in April.
DTM Dr. Soliman Al-Madi gave an inspirational and empowering message on proper planning and taking action in life.
Welcoming the Toastmasters and guests, Contest Chair TM Prabhu Krishnan highlighted how his teacher inspired him to be a speaker in school which ultimately lead him to be a trainer today.
Division K Director DTM Riyaz Sarang urged the audience to celebrate the milestones in life to be motivated to achieve the goals.
Sixteen speakers from two Areas 16 and 35 participated in the contest in four categories: international speech; table topics Speech; humorous speech; and evaluation in English contest.
Six speakers from Area 06, participated in three categories: international speech; table topics speech and evaluation contests in Arabic speech contest.
All participants had moved into Division level after winning contests conducted earlier in their respective Areas and Clubs.
In the humorous speeches contest, the contestants entertained the audience with colorful presentation and great humor. TM Fatema Hasan bagged the first position, whereas TM Aisha Ali won second and TM Afasja Jaji baged third place respectively.
In the table topics speech contest, which requires the speakers to deliver impromptu speeches, TM Ahmed Youssf Abba was pronounced the first place winner whereas TM Noura Ahmed Ouseman won second and TM Hasan Fitaihi third place respectively.
In the speech evaluation contest, speakers employing their listening skills gave gratifying feedback on the speech delivered by the test speaker TM Ahmed Amoudi, TM Ahmed Youssf Abba secured first place, while TM Abdul Rahman Hassan and TM Reem Al Nawajha got second and third places respectively.
First place winner TM Abdullah Mousa in international speech, laced with message for life, synchronized gestures and high energy captivated the audience.
TM Ahmed Youssf Abba and TM Afasja Jaji won second and third places respectively.
The first place winners in all of the four categories will participate in District 104 annual conference, which will be held on April 9 in Taif.
In Arabic contest, in international speech contest , TM Noor Maghrabi bagged first position whereas TM Haneen Makki secured second position.
In evaluation contest, TM Sali Albassam bagged first position whereas TM Nada Kamas was declared second.
In table topics TM Ameera Hasan Al-Zahrani bagged first position whereas TM Hind Bataweel was declared second .
Program Quality Director D104 , DTM Mohd Kunnhi and CGD Mohammed Nasiruddin, past District Directors DTM Joey Villenueva, DTM Rashid Ali attended the contest. T.S.Balakrishnan, CFO of ALJ Motors was the guest .
The master of ceremony, a seasoned toastmaster, TM Omer Aqeel Khan enthralled the audiences with beautiful introductions, humor and smooth flow in professionally conducting the event.
He was assisted by four contest masters; TM Osman Omer, TM Aqeel Jamil Khan, TM Adam Isa and DTM Ibrahim Marikar for English contest. TM Mahi Yousuf was the master of ceremony and contest master for the Arabic contest.
TM Sameer Kunnan, DTM Saji Kuriakose, DTMMaria Teresa, DTM Basheer Ambavalan and DTM Mohammed Kunhi were the chief judges.

DTM Dr. Soliman Al-Madi of Aramco & District 104 Director DTM Abdullah Filimban facilitated Toastmasters of District 104 for conducting Youth Leadership Program initiated under Aramco Tomooh program 2019 .
They appreciated TM Aqeel Jamil Khan & TM Samia Aqeel Khan and their team of D104 for organizing the training of 200 Saudi boys and girls under Aramco program.
Contest Chair Prabhu thanked all organizing committees, Toastmasters and sponsors for their efforts in making the event successful. He also thanked Trident Hotel for their hospitality and exceptional service.
