220 IISJ students given YLP training

Eloquence, oratorical skills and confidence portrayed the energetic and vibrant youth leaders — the students of International Indian School Jeddah competing during the graduation ceremony at the IISJ Boys School auditorium.
It was the culmination of a four-month training, 8 weeks each for boys and girls of class 9-12 imparting the art of effective communication and leadership. The program was initiated and conducted by Program Quality Director of Division K, Toastmaster Aqeel Jamil Khan and Area 16 Director TM Samia Aqeel Khan under the aegis of Division K Director TM Osman Omer and a team of experienced Toastmasters.
Consul General Noor Rehman Shaikh congratulated the Toastmasters and IISJ School for providing the opportunity to youngsters to be better communicators through the youth leadership platform. He advised youth to work hard to achieve their dreams.
Dr. Soliman Almadi, District 79 director of Toastmasters, said youth leaders of today would be ambassadors of Saudi Arabia in future. He congratulated Toastmasters of Area 16, Div. K and IISJ for a wonderful partnership in providing youth an opportunity to acquire leadership skills. After listening to youth leaders I feel our future is in safe hands, he added.
School MC Chairman Mohamed Iqbal Ahmed and Academic Council member Asif Rameez Daudi also spoke on the occasion and inspired the students to become better leaders.
Each student has the gift and talent to communicate and the objective of this Youth Leadership Program is to groom this talent, said chief coordinator of YLP Khan.
A record 220 students completed the Youth Leadership Program. Whether it was impromptu speeches or prepared ones the young leaders excelled in persuasiveness, and their captivating speeches were sprinkled with anecdotes and humor mesmerizing the audience.
Winners for the evaluation round were Syeda Arfaa, Rafaa Fatima( runner-up) and Nidal (2nd runner-up).
Winners for the Table Topics round were Rayyan Sheikh, Hafsa Zafar (runner-up) and Sayeda Ruqaya (2nd runner-up)
Winners for the International Speech round were Sharmin Onali, Fatima Siddique (runner-up) and Christine Johnson (2nd runner-up).
Ms Reeta Sharma, HM girls school, welcomed the guests, TM Samia Aqeel Khan gave the introduction of "Youth Leadership Program", and Nouful P., HM IISJ Boys section, presented the vote of thanks.
Distinguished Toastmaster Marwan Dashash, PQD WR District 79, gave presentation on "What is Toastmasters", and TM Osman Omer briefed about Div. K Contest.
TM Aqeel Khan and Chief Judges PDG DTM Joey Villanueva, DTM Rashid Ali and DTM Tess Villanueva announced the results. The ceremony was competently compered by Gav. Asma Zain and Gav. Nida Sayeed. YLS Tariq Wahab, Mohammed Luha and Noble were the contest masters.
The YLP trainers were TM Aqeel J Khan, Samia A Khan, TM Zainab Mulji, TM Rafath Sulthana, TM Riyaz Sarang, TM Khaleel Ahmed, TM Osman Omer, TM Abdul Sami, TM Shafiqur Rehman, TM Bobby Ensomo, TM Omer Aqeel Khan, TM Nasir Khursheed , TM Mohd. Siraj, and were felicitated by School Management Committee members.
Gavaliers club officers of IISJ Girls and Boys school were recognized by Dr. Soliman Almadi, Asif Daudi, TM Marwan Dashash.
Youth leaders of class 9th -12th were awarded with YLP training certificates by school MCC members, senior Toastmasters.
Also in attendance were Deputy Consul General Mohd. Shahid Alam, Mohan Balan, Shamsuddin Kodakkodan, Tahir Ali, members SMC, Headmistress Rita Sharma, Distinguished Toastmasters Rhic Brioness, Glen Sibag, Toastmasters Osman Omer, Khaleel Ahmed, Mohd. Kunnhi, Assain Illikall, Roberts Peres, TM Asheer, TM Vijay, teachers, parents and students.
