Speakers mesmerize audience in Division K Contest

Jeddah — Speakers mesmerized the audience with their persuasive speeches and eloquence in the Division-K 2nd Annual Contest held recently at Trident Hotel.
Twenty-two speakers from three areas 16, 28 and 35 participated in the contests in four categories: International speech; Table Topics Speech; Humorous Speech; and Evaluation Speech. All participants had moved into Division level after winning contests conducted earlier in their respective areas.
The humorous speeches, the contestants entertained audience with spontaneity and humor. Omar Aqeel Khan got the first prize , whereas Hamza Al Haddar won second and Zainab Mulji third place respectively.
In Table Topics speech contest, which require the speakers to deliver extempore speeches, Zainab Mulji was adjudged the first place winner whereas Sahar Waris won second and Omar Aqeel Khan took third place respectively.
In Speech Evaluation contest, speakers underlined their listening skills and gave fruitful feedback on the speech by the test speaker Samy Gramy. Bobby Ensomo won first place, while Zainab Mulji and Omer Aqeel Khan got second and third places respectively.
Zainab Mulji won the first place in International Speech contest, Bobby Ensomo and Sahar Waris won second and third places respectively. The first place winners in all of the four categories will participate in District 79 Annual Conference, which will be held on April 21-23 at Dammam.
Contest Chair Osman Omer declared the meeting officially open and welcomed the Toastmasters & guests. In his address, the Division K Director Abdul Sami thanked all organizing committees and Toastmasters for their efforts in making the event successful and urged them to make extra efforts to achieve their goals.
Chief Guest was Deputy Consul General of India Mohd. Shahid Alam, who while speaking on the occasion, congratulated Division K Toastmasters for a wonderful contest and commended speakers for their brilliant performances. He urged everyone to come out of their comfort zone to achieve greater objectives.
Past Division Governor DTM Reggie Magga delivered a motivational address and urged the audience only to do something which they feel passionate about. The IPDG79, DTM Joey Villanueva speaking on the occasion, congratulated Toastmasters for confirmation of new District in Western region in the year 2017. DTM Rashid Ali Director PQD of District 79 also spoke on the occasion and directed Toastmasters to work as team for better results.
The master of ceremony was a seasoned toastmaster TM Khaleel Ahmed, who was assisted by four contest masters; Robert Parez, Shanthi Lakshman, Omar Fattah and Ashraf M., other veteran toastmasters, Ibrahim Marikar, Mohd. Kunhi, Osman Omer and Rhic Brioness were the chief judges.
Abdulsami , thanked all sponsors for their support, he specially thanked Trident Hotel for their hospitability and excellent service.
