RIYADH — The ten Saudi students evacuated on Feb. 2 from the Chinese city of Wuhan, the epicenter of the deadly Coronoavirus, are safe and free of any virus and have been released from the isolated rooms in a medical facility in the capita. The students left the preventive isolation rooms on Sunday after checking on their health and completing all the required medical procedures, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said. These students arrived in Riyadh on board a special plane following the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman to evacuate them from China, where the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Saudi Embassy in China made great efforts to facilitate their travel procedures. The ministry reiterated that it has not recorded any cases of the new virus in the Kingdom. The students were the only ones in the medical facility in Riyadh which had not been officially been opened to the public yet. The students were under close medical observation. They were tested twice a day for fever, cough or influenza symptoms, and every three days they underwent a saliva swab test to make sure they were virus-free, according to the medical sources. The ministry continues to implement precautionary measures to prevent the virus from entering the Kingdom as it is examining arriving passengers from China and conducting intensive awareness campaigns to combat and prevent the spread of the virus.
