RIYADH — The Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTH) has called on all investors in accommodation sector in the Kingdom register on the National Tourism Monitoring Platform as soon as possible, noting that it already has given investors a period of 90 days to be registered and connected to the platform. The end of the registration period will be next Tuesday, Dec. 17. The online platform to monitor the performance of tourist activities was launched in September. The national platform for tourist monitoring, which is an online platform to monitor the performance of all tourist monitoring activities, including accommodation and tourist movement, something which enables the platform to be an accredited center for statistics and data related to the tourism sector in Saudi Arabia," the SCTH media department said. Director General of the department of licensing at the SCTH, Abdulkareem Alomey, said measures stipulated in the regulations will be implemented on facilities that have not registered during the specified period. He added that the platform will help in following up the tourist movement, raising the quality standard of tourist services, providing accurate and instant data on tourist movement in the Kingdom, and providing an easy and quick access to information and statistics of the tourism accommodations sector. The platform is in line with the national digital transformation program, a key part of the Saudi Vision 2030, which stresses that advanced digital infrastructure is an integral part of economic activities and represents a basic requirement to boost competitiveness.
