RIYADH – The Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTH) has launched a new package of e-services whereby e-licenses for several tourism activities can be issued in a record time. The development comes within the qualitative improvements plan in technological services and transactions at the SCTH. The launching of the instant licenses system is intended to meet the increasing growth in the tourism sector and facilitate practicing the activity speedily. The licensing department in the SCTH is working on developing the necessary criteria for raising the quality standards that the providers of tourism services to tourist from within the Kingdom and abroad, in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030, that stresses relying on e-solutions to carry out the transactions swiftly. The system will enable investors to visit the e-gate TLG.scth.gov.sa allotted for the issuance of licenses for a number of tourism activities including offices for booking tourist accommodation units, organizing tourist trips, and travel and tourism agencies. This comes within the SCTH efforts to create an environment conducive to attracting investments in the tourism sector, meet investors' aspirations, keep pace with the increasing demand for tourism in the Kingdom following the launch of the tourist visa for visitors from different parts of the world. The move to attract tourists is to make tourism a sustainable economic sector that is capable of competing locally and globally. Moreover, it helps in creating job opportunities for the citizens and supports the national economy.
