RIYADH — Minister of Justice and Chairman of the Supreme Judiciary Council Walid Al-Samaani said that the most important among the characteristics of the Saudi justice system is that it is flexible and responsive to changes, and this is reflected in the development and periodic updating of some of the rules and executive regulations. "At the same time, the judicial guarantees and the entire rules based on the concept of justice and its applications do not subject to any changes and exchanges," he said. The minister made the remarks during his visit to Belarus and his meeting with the Belarusian Minister of Justice Oleg Slizhevsky. Al-Samaani said the judicial system in Saudi Arabia is pursuing a development path in content and procedures, through many executive programs and that is in line with Vision 2030. "This shows the State's great interest in the judiciary and its keenness to apply the latest procedural systems," he said. Al-Samaani explained to his Belarusian counterpart that the Kingdom's judiciary is independent and operates on the principle of multiple degrees of litigation, which enhances judicial guarantees, accelerates the resolution of disputes, and guarantees the quality of judicial decisions, in addition to providing transparency to both parties. During the meeting, an executive program was signed for a memorandum of understanding that had signed between the ministries of justice in the Kingdom and Belarus last year with the aim of strengthening international partnerships, benefiting from the judicial experiences of other countries, exchange of experiences and cooperation in the provision of judicial and legal assistance, and training of human cadres to apply best practices in the judicial and legal aspects. The signing of the executive program also coincided with the start of talks by specialists in the ministries of justice from both countries with regard to concluding a judicial cooperation agreement between the two countries.
