Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — Pakistan's new consul general, Khalid Majid, has arrived here to assume charge of his assignment. Officers and staff of the consulate accorded a warm welcome to him at the consulate. Addressing them the consul general said that he feels blessed and honored to be chosen to serve the Pakistani community in Jeddah. Saudi Arabia has the largest number of Pakistanis living outside their country and "our foremost duty here is to serve them with due dignity and honor," he said and added that serving the humanity is also teaching of Islam and we should serve the community with same sentiment and passion. In a statement, Arshad Munir, Consular (Press) at the Pakistani consulate here welcomed the new consul general. Khalid Majid was born in Pakistan in 1969. He joined Pakistan's Foreign Service in 1999. Earlier, he lent a decade of services in the country's armed forces. Khalid Majid has served at the foreign ministry headquarters in various capacities including as a section officer from January 2000 to June 2004 and as director from August 2008 to April 2010. Majid undertook various diplomatic assignments in Pakistani missions abroad including as a third secretary, second secretary and first secretary at The Hague from August 2004 to June 2008. He served in his capacity as first secretary/Consular at the Pakistan High Commission in London from January 2011 to October 2014 and then consular at Pakistan Embassy in Beijing from January 2015 to February 2017. Before arriving in to Jeddah, Khalid Majid served as director general (headquarters & finance) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad.
