Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — Pakistan's Consul General Khalid Majid on Tuesday visited the Shumaisy detention center that keeps expatriates undergoing the deportation process. The consul general was accompanied by Consul (Consular Affairs) Muhammad Hassan. During the visit, the consul seneral met with Khalil Ahmad Admawi, advisor (MOFA) on Deportation Center and Brig. Usama Abdullah Abu Melha, director general, immigration deportation center. Brig. Usama briefed the consul general on the functioning and facilities at the center and on various steps being taken to fast-track the deportation process. The consul general appreciated and thanked Saudi government for making good arrangements of housing, medical and food for Pakistani detainees. While discussing the matters regarding deportation of Pakistani expatriates, the consul general also highlighted various aspects of eligible deportation cases and issues related to them. He requested the Saudi authorities to favorably consider such cases and facilitate their early exit. According to Arshad Munir, Consular Press, the consul general also met with the Pakistani consulate staff at the Shumaisy Detention Center. Appreciating their efforts he urged them to continue and intensify their efforts to felicitate the deportation of Pakistani detainees and resolve their legitimate concerns.
