LuLu Hypermarkets, the region's top retailer, unveiled its reusable bags and paper bags across its stores in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as an environment-driven campaign to reduce plastic consumption and promote environment protection in line with LuLu's social initiatives coinciding with the Saudi National Day celebration on September 23. Apart from the reusable bags, LuLu introduced new paper bags also to bring multiple options on shopping bags to the customers. The newly launched bags were introduced in a special function inaugurated by chief guest of honor Eng. Majed Abdulaziz Alfarraj, Director General of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Riyadh Branch, in the presence of Shehim Mohammed, Director – KSA, LuLu Saudi Hypermarkets, at LuLu Hypermarket, Atyaf Mall last September 10. Shehim Mohammed said: "We are extremely honored to be the first hypermarket in the kingdom to launch this kind of initiative that promotes an eco-conscious lifestyle on how to enjoy shopping while caring for the environment. As part of nationwide campaigns towards helping nature to thrive, we believe that these LuLu-branded reusable bags, along with the paper bags, will add a new dimension to retail shopping by spreading a big message to the public to become more responsible on saving resources."
