JEDDAH — In a fitting ceremony to celebrate the 121st Philippine Independence Day celebration on June 12, 2019, the DPWorld Tennis Club formally closed out the team tennis tournament that they organized and held at the company's accommodation camp inside Jeddah Port from May 25 to June 7. This tournament culminated successfully under the leadership of George Bornales (club chairman) and supported by Orlee Reyes, the lead organizer, with all DPWTC members. The awards ceremonies held at the DPWorld compound was led by the keynote speaker Herminigildo Daycot, assistant labor attache of the Philippine Consulate in Jeddah. Invited guests included Taha Al Turki and Binu Puthen, camp manager and finance manager respectively. In the Lower-Mix Category, five (5) teams went through a single round-robin elimination, leaving four (4) teams that fought out in the semifinal games in knockout cross-over matches. Host DPWTC (Rank #1) pitted against Tennistar (Rank #4), and Unified-ASTEC (Rank #2) matched against SPTC (Rank #3). DPWTC and Unified-ASTEC took down their separate opponents, and came out protagonists in the finals match, in which the latter emerged victorious. The members of the champion team, Unified-ASTEC, are Tatex Bantog, Johnver Caroche, Ricky Sedrome, Nestor Pandac Jr., Charlie Miranda, Leo Pasiliao, and Michael Ladrito.
