JEDDAH — The Association of Tennis Clubs (ASTEC) Jeddah crowned the winner of the recently concluded 6th Al Baik Tennis Challenge 2014 when it staged the awarding ceremony at Al-Basateen Village. Plaques, trophies, certificates of participation and a sumptuous dinner capped the event to end the two-month long tournament. Philippine Consul General Leo Tito Ausan and Vice Consul Jim Minglana attended the occasion along with Bassam Al-Seyofi, PR manager of Al Baik, the main sponsor of the event. Recipients of special awards in the Best Doubles were Jhune Delos Reyes and Leo Lagumay of SBG-RPD team for the Category C; Herbert Amores and Bobring Yparraguirre of SPTC for Category B2; Keym Pangandaman and Mike Morohamsar of Saudia Catering for Category LMX; Alex Pena and Pablo Page of SOFTC-Arabian Woodworks for Category B1; Maarouf Pantaran and Jimmy Usman of Sandstorm for Category MMX and Ava Escalera and Mariel Ritual of MTTS for ladies' Category LMX. For the Best in Uniform, awards in Categories C and B1 were given to SOFTC-Arabian Woodworks; Reem Riviera-Uricane took it for Categories B2 and Ladies HMX; Category LMX went to Uncle Sam; Elaf Group for Category MMX, while Ladies Category LMX went to Taif-ABTC. The champions were team ATP-Mon for Category C composed of Mon Mendoza, Mauro Deocadez, Rey Amosco, Arthur Gipiga, Bobot Garcia, Jun Marte, Alex Tam, Ronald Versoza and Anselmo Liwanag; Jeddah Ranao Tennis Club (JRTC-RASJ) in the Category LMX with members Rash Mapunod, Jimmy Usman, Noroden Pangcoga, Rajah Ali P, Ken Mapandi, Mostafa Laguindab, Aliisa Pangaibat, Sohaimi Ismail and Amer Santican; Saudia City Tennis Club (SCTC) for the ladies HMX Category composed of Rhoda Bangit, Tatah Egil, Malou Sabio, Dheila Harris, Nympha Sakay, Hezyl Lozada, Raelyn Licyayo and Ailen Wahab. In the ladies LMX Category, Modern Times Technical Systems (MTTS) champions were Amor Idjao, Kristina Endriga, Racquel Madrilejo, Ava Escalera, Fe Abat, Bing Cabuquin, Mariel Ritual and Monet Certeza. For the Category B2 were Saleh Salem, Saeed Al-Ghamdi, Yayha Maalouf, Wael Al-Harbi, Mohammed Al-Ghamdi, Abdullah Al-Asmari, Tarek Annahari, Yosef Al-Gozi and Malek Azzharani of SSS Black Tigers team. Champions too were Danny Natangcop, Maarouf Pantaran, Sammy Macapaar, Abdulrahman Usman, Sajidkan Usman, Sammy Tomalondong, Mohammad Noor Halil, Saipoden Dianalan and Jimmy Usman of team Sandstorm in the Category MMX. In the Category B1, Jeddah Ranao Tennis Club (JRTC-Sultan) was on top with Jimmy Usman, Maarouf Pantaran, Abdulrahman Usman, Sajidkan Usman, Mohammad Noor Halil, Noroden Pangcoga, Zaim Umpa, Sammy Macapaar and Mostafa Laguindab. Taking the crown in the Category HMX was team MTTS Modern Times Technical Systems bannered by Francis Idjao, Randy Martin, Bok Gregorio, Kits Canoy, Eric Diaz, Abdul Maten Khoja, Domelo Gesto, Ariel Baquinon and Dilson Autentico. Organized and managed by the Association of Tennis Clubs in Jeddah (ASTEC) this 27th ASTEC team tennis tournament played at the Trio Ranch Country Club tennis courts was presented in partnership with Al Baik Food Systems Co. Ltd. and supported by Deltaz Marketing (Racquet Shop), Skyfreight Forwarders and A-Marai Drinks.
