Okaz/Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — A 15-year-old girl here had a last-minute magical reprieve when her father, who was hell-bent on killing her, had a change of heart just before the final moments but after already stabbing her four times. It was oozing of her blood that transformed the man from being a dastardly beast into a person full of paternal love. Providence had it that the same man who was willing to slaughter his own daughter a couple of minutes ago decided to call an end to his insanity and let go of the girl and then rushed her to King Abdul Aziz Hospital in South Jeddah. An official source at the health department described the girl's condition as stable and said she is out of danger now. The source said the knife stabs did not reach the girl's esophagus or the main artery and added that quick intervention by the doctors saved her life. In the hospital when the man saw police teams arriving, he managed to escape. Details on what enraged the man to launch the murderous assault on his daughter have not yet come to light.
