Published in The Saudi Gazette on 02 - 04 - 2019

JEDDAH — In an effort to give awareness about the latest trends in business field and to introduce novel technology to its members, the Business Initiative Group (BIG) conducted a seminar here in Jeddah recently.
The BIG chief coordinator Muhammed Kunhi presided over the event, which commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an followed by its translation by A.M. Ashraf. Abdul Majeed Falcon introduced the presenters to the audience. The master of ceremony was Abdul Salam Kalikavu.
The seminar comprised of four segments. Shahid Malayil delivered a presentation about ‘Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing)' that generated a good deal of excitement and enthusiasm among the audience. The members and guests in attendance listened keenly as the topic was very fresh to many.
Malayil displayed different models of houses created by using the 3D print technology. "Many countries are coming forward to adopt the latest technology to meet the rising demands of their housing requirements and proud to say that Saudi Arabia is in the forefront to introduce this promising technology," he said.
He had shown a small model of a flower vase printed by using the new technology. He urged members especially businessmen to explore the endless possibilities of the 3D printing as it opens up a whole new vistas and avenues. He also elaborated its advantages over the traditional manufacturing methods.
M.M. Irshad, corporate trainer and CIGI senior resource person, spoke on ‘Success through Law of Attraction.' He involved the audience throughout his session. He asked the audience to dream big and visualize it with a realistic goal and a clear vision. He said that many lingering blocks created by surroundings and environments are hindering our path of progress.
It can be reformed by filling the powerful mind with positive thoughts and vibes that would help achieve one's aspirations and goals. "If you focus on negative things, your mind will remain under that undesirable realm forever," he said. He advised members to associate with people having positive mindset that would unwittingly permeate into one's subconscious mind to produce fruitful outcomes.
CIGI senior resource person and motivational speaker Aboobacker K.T recited his own poem in which he depicted the distressing situation in India and concluded it on an upbeat note. His melodious rendition drew a huge applause from the audience.
The presentation by Abdul Latheef Parappurath on the topic ‘Welfare through Investment - Happy Family' was inspirational. He explained the essential components for having a happy family. "If you give happiness to others you will get happiness and contentment in return." he said. He insisted everyone should have some types of investments to cover their impending retirement. He shared some useful tips on how to make astute move in the highly volatile sector.
A farewell was arranged on the sidelines of the program for Parappurath, who is leaving for India for good after spending almost two and half decades in the Kingdom.
