JEDDAH — The Jeddah Speakers Forum (JSF) celebrated its 75th session with an awarding ceremony for those who completed speech projects. The session also held a farewell party for K. M. Saifuddeen, one of its founding members. Saifuddeen, a mechanical engineer, is leaving back to India after spending 11 years in the Kingdom at Abdul Latif Jameel Company in his capacity as master facilitator. During his stint, he delivered many lectures and conducted a number of workshops and training sessions on various topics at various community organizations here. Saifuddeen also shouldered many leadership roles in Toastmasters International and CIGI. K. T. Aboobacker, chairman of JSF and prominent community leader, in his motivational message applauded the efforts of the Forum in developing communication and leadership skills. "Effective communication plays a vital role in enhancing our relationship with others and this objective has always been the focal point of all JSF programs," he added. He urged members to spread the virtues of the forum to all their fellow brethren and to make use of it as much as possible. Aboobacker commended the efforts of DTM Saifuddeen. He recalled the pivotal role played by Saifuddeen since its inception. A specially tailored ‘seminar' incorporating the ingredients for further enhancing members' ability to speak in public was presented by Saifuddeen. The presentation gave some tips and techniques followed by examples on how to deliver an effective speech. The forum president Mujeeb Moosa Howlath presided over the function and congratulated all members who earned the special citation on the day. "We are proud today to have accomplished a milestone by some of our passionate members in their communication skills," said Howlath in his address. "Effective Communicator" Award was given to Ameer Sha, Abdul Salam Kalikavu, Abdul Shukoor, Shahid, Riyas, Shaji, M.T. Muhammed and Sharafuddeen Kalliyil. "Advanced Communicator" award recipient were K.T. Aboobacker and Mujeeb Moosa for their successful completion of speaking projects. The JSF is an organization of Indian expatriates who wanted to improve their public speaking skills in English. Professor Raynolds of King Abdul Aziz University was instrumental in infusing among Indians, especially Keralites, the desire of learning and speaking the English language. His regular "Mind Your Language" classes since its inception attracted many members including professionals to the forum. Many members from ALJ Toastmasters fraternity attended the meeting and gave felicitation on the occasion including DTM Rashid Ali, Muhammed Kunhi, Area 7 Director Basheer Ambalavan, Sameer Kunnan and ALJ Talkmasters Club President Abu Chulliyode. Thahir Javed was the master of ceremony while Nasar Vengara proposed a vote of thanks.
