RCA sweeps Al-Qassim in Alhamrani Inter-City series

RIYADH – Three RCA (Riyadh Cricket Association) teams recently visited Al-Qassim for Inter-City Cricket Matches. This series was sponsored by Alhamrani Fuchs.
In the first match, RCA-XI beat Al-Qassim-XI by 141 runs. Electing to bat first, RCA compiled 334-5 in 30 overs. It lost some early wickets, but Sami Arshad (120) and Nasir Abbasi (67) then played delightful strokes. Rizwan Manzoor also played well for his 55. Kamran Hadi (unbeaten 28) and Muzaffar Majeed (23) added some quick runs. Faisal was the pick of the bowlers and took two wickets. Wajid and Nadeem also chipped in with a wicket each.
Chasing the huge target, Al-Qassim-XI was all out for 193 in 26.2 overs. Shams was the highest scorer with 30. Other notable contributions came from Imran (27) and Rizwan (22). Javed took three wickets, while Syed Usman bagged two and Rizwan, Kamran, Zahid and Imran claimed one each. Sami Arshad was declared the Man-of-the-Match.
In the second match, RCA Patron-XI defeated Al-Qassim by 22 runs. Batting first, RCA Patron-XI made 233 all out. Abdul Wahid was the highest scorer with a fluent 95. Amin Bakhty added 30 and Waqas 26. Imran and Mudassir claimed two wickets each. In reply, Al-Qassim was all out for 211. Asad scored 53, Umar 21 and Nouman 19. Saleem picked up four wickets, Abdul Wahid three, while Sajid Khan bagged two. Abdul Wahid was declared the Man-of-the-Match for his all-round performance.
The third match saw RCA President-XI beat Al-Qassim by eight wickets. Al-Qassim, batting first, was all out for 163. Hassan scored 33, Khawar 30 and Arab 22. Abdul Salam was the pick of the bowlers as he took three wickets, Mansoor bagged two, while Ibrar, Imran, Shoaib, Latafat and Samiullah claimed one each. RCA President-XI reached the target for the loss of two wickets in 17.2 overs. It had Salman Butt and Omar Zafar to thank for the win as they hit unbeaten 67 and 66, respectively.
A prize distribution ceremony was held at the end of the matches. Senior Vice President of RCA Abdul Karim Khan appreciated the officials of Al-Qassim Cricket Board for the arrangements. President of Al-Qassim Cricket Board Zafar Tehseen thanked RCA for the visit.
Riyadh Cricket Association also approved Al-Qassim Cricket Board's request for affiliation as a Zone. Now RCA has four affiliated zones playing under the patronage of Prince General Dr. Abdulaziz Bin Nasser Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud — Al-Kharj, Riyadh, Huraymala and Al-Qassim.
Speaking on the occasion, RCA CEO Nadeem Babar said the association would provide all-out support to Al-Qassim Cricket Zone to promote cricket in the region.
