Nadia Al-Fawaz Saudi Gazette ABHA – Asir region police have identified the person who published a clip on YouTube showing him tying up an expatriate illegally and locking up a woman. The person has been apprehended and investigations are continuing, said spokesman of Asir region police Maj. Abdullah Al-Sha'than. He said citizens don't have the right to take the law into their own hands. They should leave this to the authorities concerned. The most that is required from the citizen is to cooperate by not employing, sheltering, supporting or transporting illegal residents. They should report such people and those providing them shelter and transportation. Last month, the Asir governorate denied it had issued a warning against unidentified criminals said to be running loose in the region to threaten its social security. “There is no truth to this warning which was widely circulated through the social media tools, including Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp and others,” spokesman of the governorate Awad Al-Saeed said. He asserted that the false warnings were a shallow attempt to raise alarm and discredit the efforts of the security forces who are constantly vigilant to ensure safety of the country and its people. “Thanks to Allah, the security in the region is stable under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and Crown Prince Salman,” Al-Saeed said. The spokesman said the Governorate will follow up the source of the report and bring the perpetrator to justice under the law against cyber crimes.
