Al-Khulais, Saliheen, Butt Sports and IBS in Jotun Paints Cup semis

JEDDAH — Butt Sports beat MHA by 39 runs, IBS surprised unbeaten Hyderabad Green by a wide margin of 57 runs, Desert Warriors lost to Saliheen by a narrow margin of 8 runs and Reel & Rom lost to Al-Khulais X1 by 5 wickets in the quarterfinals of the JCA-Jotun Paints Cup, which is organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA) and sponsored by the Jotun Paints Company Saudi Arabia.
Butt Sports batted first and scored 211-8 against MHA. Zeeshan Butt and Tariq opened the innings but did not survive long. Zia and Abdul Rahman added 136 runs for the third wicket. Zia made 55 (6x4, 2x6) off 30 balls. Abdul Rahman hammered 74 off 40 balls (8X4, 2X6) and Aijaz added 20. Atta Ur Rahman was almost unplayable and claimed 4-27. Raj and Riaz claimed one wicket each.
In reply, MHA was all out for 172. Shad and Khalid laid a solid foundation by putting up 106 runs for the opening wicket partnership. Shad hit 4 fours and 2 sixes in his 45, Khalid made 54 off 34 balls (9x4, 1x6) and Usman 23 (2x4, 2x6). Atif, Abdul Rahman and Junaid claimed 2 wickets each, while Tariq got one wicket.
IBS surprised an unbeaten Hyderabad Green. The winner batted first and scored 210-7. Nisar contributed 35, Zia 38, Shoaib 36, Sohail 22 and Waris 25. Adeel claimed 2-35. Abdul Bari and Abdullah got one wicket apiece.
In reply, Hyderabad Green was bundled out for a low score of 153. Rayees made 51 (5x4, 2x6) off 36 balls. Jaffar scored 31 off 19 balls (5x4, 1x6). Zia, Qaisar, and Mohsin claimed 2 wickets each, while Nisar and Khalid got one wicket each.
Saliheen scored 228-7 against Desert Warriors. Faisal top-scored with 78 off 33 balls (11x4, 3x6) and Sabir 38 off 32 balls (3x4, 1x6). Faisal and Sabir's partnership yielded 111 runs. Umar made 20 (2x4, 1x6), Tabassum 44 (2x4, 4x6) off 17 balls, Nasir 15 and Naseer 17. Kumar and Basil took 2 wickets each for 52 and 33 runs. Abdul Quddus and Bakar had one wicket each.
Desert Warriors were given a good start of 54 runs by Masiullah (28) and Razi (30, 5x4). A. Quddus contributed 39 off 24 balls (3x4, 1x6), Aziz 59 off 35 balls (7x4, 2x6). Desert Warrior managed 220. Nasir grabbed 2-25, while Faisal and Imran claimed one wicket apiece.
The match between Reel & Rom and Al-Khulais X1 was a high scoring affair.
Reel & Rom piled up 233 but Al-Khulais X1 hit the target with 4 balls to spare for the loss of 5 wickets. For Al-Khulais, Akmal was in an aggressive mood and hammered 76 runs off 37 balls (8x4, 5x6) and Aslam made 53 (6x4,3x6) off 20 balls. Javed's contributed 39. Frankie, Muneer and Yaqoob and Nisar shared the wickets.
