Khaled Al-Adl Okaz/Saudi Gazette BURAIDAH – A university teacher and his daughter engaged in forging university certificates were arrested by Al-Qassim police. More than 16,000 bogus certificates and many duplicate seals of universities and educational institutions were seized. The Arab national, who holds a doctorate degree, was working with a private university in Bruaidah. The man, with the help of his daughter, who is in her 30s, managed to earn huge amount of money through this lucrative business. Receiving a tip off, the criminal investigation wing of Al-Qassim police, laid a trap and arrested the duo after closely watching their movements for a few days. Col. Fahd Al-Habdan, spokesman of Al-Qassim police, said that they discovered a total of 16,087 forged certificates of various universities, colleges and private institutes within the Kingdom and outside. The certificates included those of master's and doctorate degrees as well as those from reputable foreign universities and language institutes. A total of 32 duplicate seals of universities, colleges and institutes were also seized. Police officials are interrogating the culprits to know more about their activities and those associated with them.
