Ma'aden Health and Safety Recognition Award ceremony was held at Jubail InterContinental Hotel on Feb.13, 2013, attended by Ma'aden President & CEO Khalid S Al-Mudaifer, who also presented the awards to presidents of the affiliate winners. The award winners were announced according to certain H&S criteria based on each affiliate operational and project sites' performance. Ma'aden Aluminium Company (RAK Project) received Silver Award, and two Bronze Awards were presented to both Ma'aden Infrastructure Company and Ma'aden Gold and Base Metal (Al-Hajar Mine) for their recognized efforts towards Health and Safety during year 2012. The purpose of Ma'aden Health and Safety Recognition Award is to create fair competition and provide incentives for a demonstrated increase in safety awareness among Ma'aden operational and project sites. The Award is conducted annually as part of the company's health and safety recognition program, aiming to influence a high level of safety awareness among employees and sites comparable with the work being performed. The program is open to all Ma'aden sites and the sites eligibility and evaluation is determined by the Corporate Health and Safety Department. — SG
