Aalami Urdu Markaz is finalizing arrangements for an all-Pakistan mushairah (poetic session) in mid-April, said Athar Abbasi, president of the organization. Urdu Markaz is a leading literary society that has to its credit, apart from regular literary gatherings, a memorable grand Mushairah of last year. Leading Pakistani poets have also consented to attend the “mushairah,” informed Abbasi. The mushairah is being organized under the auspices of the Consulate General of Pakistan. The event's main objective is to promote Urdu and quality literary culture in the Kingdom.
