Al-Khulais and Saliheen win

JEDDAH — Al-Khulais narrowly beat Pak Young by 4 wickets, Butt Sports thrashed Al-Boroj by 9 wickets and a disciplined Saliheen beat the energetic Mohammad Harasani Associates (MHA) by 6 wickets in the 5th week matches of the Jotun Paints League, which is sponsored by Jotun Paints Saudi Arabia and organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA) here.
Al-Boroj Sika scored 167 for 5 against Butt Sports. Arif Hashmi and Tahir opened the innings and put up 151 runs. Arif Hashmi scored 56 off 36 balls (5x4 and 2x6) and Tahir 82 off 45 balls (6x6 and 5x4). Atif, Abdul Rahman, Tariq and Adil took one wicket each.
The opening pair of Butt Sports started the chase in an attacking fashion. Tariq slammed 82 off 32 balls with 7 fours and 5 sixes, three of them in one over bowled by Hameed. Zeeshan followed in Hameed's footsteps, to hit a superb 79 off 35 balls with 5 boundaries and 4 sixes. Butt Sports finished the match for the loss of Zeeshan's wicket with 5 overs to spare.
Pak Young was bowled out for a paltry 98. Tasawwar (16), Tanveer (15), and Sajid (13) and Azmath (13) touched double figures. Sajid took 3-9, Ismail 2-11, Sabeel 2-25 and Tanveer 2-26. In reply, Al-Khulais was made to fight for every run as Sajid bowled a devastating spell, claiming 5-27. Zahoor fought a lone battle scoring 28 as others crumbled. Later, Hafiz Ismail played a captain's innings of 22 to save the match. Al-Khulais won by 4 wickets.
Saliheen beat MHA by 6 wickets. MHA managed 147 in its allotted overs. Riaz contributed 43 with 5 fours and Wali made 27 with 3 fours. Nasir, Farhat and Umar claimed 2 wickets each for 28, 11 and 20 runs, respectively. In reply, Saliheen scored the required runs for the loss of 4 wickets through Hameed Gul 29, Sabir 26 and Tabassum 21 not out. Saliheen was home with 5 overs to spare. Ameer Khan claimed 3-27 runs.
