IBS, Saliheen, Hyderabad Green win

JEDDAH — IBS, Hyderabad Green and Saliheen notched contrasting wins in the 3rd week of action in the Jotun Paints Cup, which is organized by Jeddah Cricket Association, here recently.
In the first outing, IBS beat Pak Young by 13 runs. Batting first, IBS scored 179 for the loss of 7 wickets. Waris led the scorers with a solid knock of 65 (5x6 + 3x4), while getting good support from Shoaib 32 (2x6 + 3x4) and Ali 24. Fazal Khatak picked up 3-24 while Shah, Ahsan and Afridi claimed a wicket each. In reply, Pak Young fought back well, but could only reach 166 with Fazal fighting a lone battle for his unbeaten 62 (7x6 + 4x4), while Assad Nabi contributed 22 (4x4). Nasir with 2-21, Qaisar with 2-27 bowled their side to a narrow win.
The second match saw Saliheen beat Stallions by 197 runs. Saliheen posted a huge tally of 304, thanks to a brilliant innings of 104 from Hameed Gul. He flogged the Stallion bowlers all over, hitting 7 sixes and 7 fours. Giving him company was Faisal Khan, who scored 63 (5x6 + 5x4), Sabir 34 (4x4 + 1x6) and Umar 40. Usman 2-43, Sohail 2-38 bowled reasonably well. In reply, the Stallions were bundled out for a paltry 107 with Fawad (20), Ahsan (25) offering some resistance. The others caved in to some accurate bowling by Faisal (2-12), Tabassum (2-6) and Azhar (2-15).
The third match saw Hyderabad Green beat Butt Sports by 6 wickets. Butt Sports, batted first, put on 190-6. Tariq 52 (5x4 + 2x6), Zeeshan 45 (6x4 + 2x6) and Ejaz 32 (2x4 + 1x6) were amongst the runs, while Adeel (3-39) and Abdullah (2-24) bowled well to share the spoils. In reply, Hyderabad Green comfortably reached the target of 191 for the loss of 4 wickets. Zameer (39 off 28 balls), Waseem (57 off 25 balls - 5x4 + 2x6) and Junaid (66 off 25 balls - 5x6 + 5x4). Umar, Atif, Javed and Junaid claimed a wicket each.
