JEDDAH — The Civil Defense has closed down the "Ghosts House" fun ride in a shopping mall on Tahliah Street. A child was run over by a cart in the arcade, and had to be hospitalized. The arcade owner is also required to pay for the hospitalization costs of the child. Jeddah Civil Defense Director, Brig. Turki Al-Harthi said the incident was due to negligence. Investigations pointed out that the child was alone in the cart, which is a clear violation of safety rules by the operator. He said there were previous penalties imposed on the same amusement arcade for safety related issues. He said investigations will determine whether the closure will include all the whole amusement arcade, or will be confined to the "Ghosts House" section only. — SG
