JEDDAH — Pakistan International School Jeddah (English Section), Al-Wadi International School, International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ) and Pakistan International School Jeddah (Al-Aziziyah) have made the semifinals of the Under-19 Johnson Control Inter-School Cricket Tournament here. The tournament is being organized by Western Province Cricket Assoiation (WPCA) and sponsored by Saudi Cricket Centre (SCC) and Johnson Controls (JC). In the first round, PISJ-ES beat Al-Corniche International School by seven wickets. Corniche, batting first, made 150 for three wickets. Sufiyan and Mohsin played magnificent innings of 45 and 70 runs, respectively. Saleh Ahmed clinched 1-30. In reply, Pakistan International School Jeddah (ES) reached the target for the loss of three wickets in 7 overs. Captain Furqan Ahmed hit 55, Anas Malik 27, Shuaib Ahmed 22 and Salman 20. In the second match, IISJ beat DPS Al-Falah International School by 144 runs. IISJ put on 229 for five. Atif scored 56, Sameer 31, Badar 35 and Umer 28. In reply, Al-Falah was bundled out for 83. Fuaad scored 32 and Weraaj 18. Saahi (7-4) and Atif (3-4) shared the wickets. In the second round matches, PISJ Al-Aziziyah beat Al-Corniche by four wickets. Corniche set a target of 126, which PISJ Al-Aziziyah achieved for the loss of six wickets. In another match, Al-Wadi School defeated Al-Falah by 120 runs. Al-Wadi batted first and made 204 runs in the required overs. Ahmed Nasir played a brilliant innings of 127 not out. In reply, Al-Falah could score only 83. In the third round, PISJ-ES defeated PISJ Al-Aziziyah by eight wickets. PISJ Al-Aziziyah batted first and made 155 for the loss of eight wickets. Mudassir (34) and Majid (33) were among the runs. Saleh clinched 3-21, Shuaib 20-2 and Anas Malik 17-2. In reply, Anas Malik hit 66, Shuaib Ahmed 41 and Salman 30 batted with poise and helped PISJ-ES achieve the target in 15 overs. In the second match, IISJ defeated Al-Wadi International School to advance to the semifinals.
