Razaur Rahman RIYADH — All is set for the Saudi Gazette Inter-School T-20 Cricket Tournament U-16 and U-19 finals at RCL Complex here Thursday afternoon. While IISR Academy will face PISR Naseriya in the U-16 final, PISR Naseriya will take on IISR for the U-19 crown. The tournament is sponsored by Saudi Gazette and organized by Riyadh Cricket League (RCL). Khaled Almaeena, Editor-in-Chief of Saudi Gazette, will be the chief guest on the occasion. Many other dignitaries, businessmen and school representatives along with families are expected for the finals. The prize distribution ceremony is scheduled after the finals. In the first U-16 semifinal International Indian School Riyadh (IISR) Academy beat Delhi Public School (DPS) by five wickets. Batting first, DPS could manage only 96 runs. Fahad scored 35, Rajeev 12 and Aariz 10. Masood took four wickets, Mukul 2, while Faiz, Ahsan and Mazin claimed a wicket each. In reply, IISR Academy reached the target for the loss of 5 wickets in 12.2 overs. Yahya hit 32, Mukul 30 and Faiz remained unbeaten on 10. Musaib and Hamza took two wickets each, while Fahad grabbed one. Mukul of IISR was adjudged Man-of-the-Match. The second U-16 semifinal saw PISR Naseriya beat Indian International Public School (IIPS) by 32 runs. PISR Naseriya put on 177 for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Among the runs were Waleed 58 not out, Sulaiman 39 and Haseeb 19. Ashar and Ruman took two wickets each, while Hemanth and Sidharth picked up a wicket each. In reply, IIPS could score only 145 for the loss of eight wickets. Ashar hit 37, Bilal 18 and Abdullah 16. Sulaiman grabbed three wickets, Haseeb two and Mudassir one. Sulaiman of PISR was adjudged Man-of-the-Match.
