RIYADH — IISR-A, PISR and PIS Nasseriyah won their matches in the Saudi Gazette Inter-School Cricket Tournament, which is organized by Riyadh Cricket League, at the RCL complex here. Cricket kits, sponsored by nasair and Saudi Gazette, were distributed to the players by RCL committee. In the Under-16 section, IISR-A defeated PISES by 115 runs. Opting to bat first, IISR-A made 178-5 in 20 overs. Mukul top scored with 47. A. Raheem made 30 and Yahya 21. H. Malik and Talha took one wicket each for PISES. In reply, IISR-A bowlers bundled out PISES for 63. Arshad (13) and H. Malik (10) were the main scorers. Faizuddin took 4 wickets in 4 overs for 20 runs and Aalsefin got 2. Faizuddin was adjudged the Man-of-the-Match for his fine bowling (4-20). In another Under-16 match, PISR defeated IISR-B by 77 runs. PISR batted first and made a massive total of 205-3. Jamshed was in great form and he cracked the first century of the tournament. His knock of 103 included 16 boundaries. He was well-supported by Mudassir (37) and Waleed (27). Alwin Sunny, Zain and Easa took one wicket each. In reply, IISR-B started carefully, but could only manage 128-9. Alwin Sunny (36), Emil (24) and Ammar (17) were the main scorers. Haseeb of PISR bowled well and recorded a hat trick (4-24). Jamsheed, Waleed and Bilal took one wicket each. Jamshed was adjudged the Man-of-the-Match for his unbeaten century and one wicket. In the third match, PIS Nasseriyah beat IISR by 28 runs in the Under-19 section. PIS Nasseriyah batted first and tallied 196-5. Matiullah batted very well for 62. He was supported by Aquib (37) and Abdul Rahman (28). Naveed took 3-35, while Hisham, Faisal and Aiman took one wicket each. In reply, IISR batsmen showed some promise and made 168-8. The batsman who led the team from the front was Hisham, who remained unbeaten on 83. Ateeq and Rahman made 9 runs each. Yasir took 4-15, Ehsan 3-20, while Aquib, Anees and Nabeel got one each. The Man-of-the-Match award was jointly won by IISR's Hisham (83 not out and one wicket) and Yasir of PIS Nasseriyah (27 runs and 4 wickets).
