An Arab national has been arrested by the Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice (Hai'a) charged with attempting to blackmail a girl by threatening to post pictures of her on the Internet if she did not accede to his wishes. Hai'a spokesman in Arar Abdullah Al-Musheiti said the organization had received a complaint from the victim and then set up a trap Monday in which the blackmailer was caught in the act. On a side note, it was reported on Sept. 5 that spokesmen for the Hai'a had been ordered not to speak to the media without first consulting the organization's General Presidency at its headquarters in Riyadh, with each enquiry expected to take between four and five days to answer.
