JEDDAH – The Jeddah chapter of Government College Malappuram Alumni hosted a reception in honor of prominent Kerala Muslim leader Panakkad Sayed Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal, who is also an alumni of the college, at Shifa Jeddah auditorium. The function was presided over by P.A Abdurahman, president of the alumni and managing director of Shifa Jeddah Poly Clinic. Speaking on the occasion, Sayed Thangal expressed his delight over the opportunity to have a reunion with many of his expatriate classmates. He also lauded the commendable humanitarian and charity works being carried out by the alumni to alleviate the suffering of several Indians back home, especially the poor and the sick. Prof. Saithalikkutty, former teacher of the college; alumni Chairman Konnola Iqbal, treasure Azeez Mullampara, K.M.A Latheef, Saleem Korambath, Adv. Naseer, Ismail Mankarathodi, Sahal Thangal, Musthafa Melethil, C.P.S Thangal, Masud Thangal and Habiburahman spoke on the occasion. The alumni secretary Ashraf Unneen welcomed the gathering while Adel Manchery delivered the vote of thanks at the end of the function. – SG
