RIYADH – Police arrested two men riding a vehicle at in Riyadh following a chase after officers got suspicious of their behavior. The two men were driving around Al-Shifa neighborhood of the city andm sped off when they saw a patrol vehicle. When police followed the car, they drove at a high speed, ran a red light and took the wrong direction on a busy street sowing confusion. However, the driver eventually lost control of the vehicle and hit the pavement. Police immediately arrested the driver and the passenger. On inspection of the vehicle, a large quantity of liquor was found stashed inside. The driver turned out to be a suspect wanted by the Riyadh Drug Enforcement Administration while the passenger in the car did not have any ID on him. They had changed the car's number plates to disguise their identity and mislead the officers in the event of a security check.
