Police who stopped a suspicious vehicle with three passengers in the capital discovered upon inspection that the car was carrying false license plates and that one of the passengers was wanted on charges of murder. Police said on Monday that a car with Gulf plates refused to stop under orders and that an ensuing chase continued out into the desert beyond Al-Thamama where the three suspects attempted to hide among the dunes. Officers located the three, however, and described one of them as in a “state of inebriation”. A second passenger, it transpired, was wanted for a murder committed in the region of Rumaah.
