RAMALLAH – Israeli forces Tuesday shot dead a Palestinian youth during clashes in the West Bank village of Bodrus, Palestinian and Israeli sources said. Mohammed Morrar, the head of Bodrus' council, said that 17-year-old Samir Awad was approaching the separation wall Israel has build near the village, located to the west of Ramallah, when soldiers opened fire at him. He added that the youth was participating in anti-separation wall protest. Morrar said that Awad was evacuated in severe condition to a hospital in Ramallah, where he succumbed to his wounds. Palestinian medical sources said that Awad received four gunshots in his torso and legs. The sources said that at least 15 Palestinians were wounded by rubber bullets and from gas inhalation during the clashes. They received medical treatment at the site by Palestinian paramedics. The Israeli army spokesman's office said the youth had tried to breach the separation wall at Bodrus, adding that he “ignored orders from soldiers to stop and warning shots fired in the air.” On Saturday, Israeli forces shot and killed a Palestinian man in south Mount Hebron. The Israeli army claimed that the man attempted to enter Israel illegally to look for a job by breaching the separation wall in the area. Meanwhile, the Jewish-dominated Jerusalem municipality demolished two homes belonging to Palestinians in East Jerusalem's neighborhoods of Sur Baher and Beit Hanina saying they were “illegally built.” Khader Al-Debbis, the coordinator of the Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlements in East Jerusalem, said that inspectors from the municipality accompanied by Israeli police and Border Guard officers demolished the homes claiming that the owners Aref Amireh and Nasser al-Rajabi were not in possession of a valid construction license.
