Mohammed Mar'i Saudi Gazette RAMALLAH – Palestinians in the West Bank protested for the third to express solidarity with their “brothers” in Gaza Strip. Mustafa Al-Barghouthi, chairman of the Palestinian National Initiative party and a member of the Palestine Legislative Council, said that 11 Palestinians were wounded during clashes with Israeli soldiers near the Ofer military camp located to the west of Ramallah. Al-Barghouthi said that four Palestinians were critically wounded in the clashes. He added that at least 25 Palestinians suffered from gas inhalation. They were evacuated to the Ramallah hospital for treatment, the Palestinians official said. He added that a Palestinian ambulance was partially damaged by Israeli soldiers. Meanwhile, hundreds of Palestinians rallied at Yasser Arafat's Square in central Ramallah against the Israeli aggression. The participants waved Palestinians flags and carried signs denouncing the aggression and calling for its end. Israel has killed 40 Palestinians and wounded 300 others since it launched the Operation Pillar of Defense Wednesday to root out the military infrastructure in the coastal enclave, beginning with the targeted killing of Ahmed Al-Jaabari, the chief of Hamas's military wing. Three Israelis were killed on Thursday in retaliatory rocket strikes south of the country. In Nablus, Palestinians sources said that four Palestinians were lightly wounded during clashes with Israeli soldiers manning the Hewara military checkpoint to the south of city. The sources said that Ahmed Suboh sustained head injuries and was evacuated to Rafedia hospital for treatment. The sources added that the Israeli soldiers arrested eight Palestinians during the clashes. They said that the Israeli soldiers closed the checkpoint and prevent the Palestinian passengers from passing through it. Elsewhere in the West Bank, Palestinians clashes with Israeli soldiers manning the al-Jalameh checkpoint to the east of Jenin city. Palestinians eyewitnesses said that some 15 Palestinians suffered from gas inhalation. Mohammed Braijeyeh, the spokesman of Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlements in Bethlehem, said that violent clashes erupted between Palestinians and Israeli soldiers in the al-Khader village, to the south of the city. Braijeyeh said that several protestors suffered from gas inhalation and received medical treatment at the site.
