Children design the car of their dreams. JEDDAH – For the third year in a row Toyota ALJ has launched its art contest to give Saudi Arabia's younger generations an opportunity to showcase their artistic talents by drawing the car of their dreams and win numerous prizes including a trip to Japan. The Dream Car Art Contest activities kicked off during the Saudi International Motor Show in Jeddah at a special corner designed especially for children. It turned out to be highly popular and created an inspiring environment for the children. Last year, from an initial 2,800 entries in Saudi Arabia, children who drew the winning artworks were sent to Japan for the world contest. One of the winners from Saudi Arabia won a place in the finals of the worldwide contest and went to Japan with her family to collect her award from Akio Toyoda, president of Toyota. Also, two winners from Saudi Arabia received signed certificates from Toyoda for being official finalists. The Dream Car Art Contest will be judged across three age categories, including under 10s; 10-12 years; and13-15 years. The top three in each category will win prizes. The Kingdom is one of 64 countries participating in the global competition. Adel Ezzat, managing director of marketing at ALJ, said: “It is the third consecutive year of the Dream Car Art Contest in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. “It is part of our commitment to encourage children to express their joy and artistic talents and utilize their imagination to design the cars of the future. “This contest will help children develop and express their creativity and understand the importance of pursuing their dreams. “We hope this experience will nurture their future dreams and broaden their world of imagination." To enter the art contest, children are required to draw their dream car of the future on A3-size paper and submit the drawing to their nearest Toyota showroom in the Kingdom.
