Published in The Saudi Gazette on 23 - 11 - 2010

long Texan Food Festival that opened last week at Garden Barbeque of Al-Khozama Hotel, a Rosewood Hotel, owned by Al-Khozama Management Company, has been a relishing experience with grilled steaks of beef and mutton for people during Al-Adha holidays.
The month-long event is open between 7.30 P.M. and 11.30 P.M.
Garden Barbeque, an idyllic outdoor setting transformed into a perfect range-style environment reflecting a heritage that originated in the US state of Texas known for its southern hospitality. A lively atmosphere has been created with waiters wearing cowboy costumes welcoming the guests.
The occasion is a celebration of Rosewood Hotel's roots - the first Rosewood Hotel opened in Dallas in 1979, the Texas Food Festival promises a feast of Southern favorites. The menu includes everything from freshly grilled steaks, chicken and shrimps, to fajitas, quesadillas and chili con carne, and an awe-inspiring array of side dishes, sweet delights and traditional American refreshments.
Khaled Zakaouat, chef, Al-Khozama Hotel, told Saudi Gazette that ingredients required to prepare a variety of Texan dishes have been imported from the US. “A irresistible aroma of hickory smoked barbeque grills transport the guests to the heart of the South,” he said.
The diners can enjoy make to order dishes, which are prepared and served hot while the guests watch Texan movies. “Of course, the warmth of Southern hospitality extends beyond its legendary cuisine and the Texan Food Festival includes a host of fun and engaging activities for guests,” he said.
To make the event livelier, the Texan Food Festival is offering the guests a chance to enter raffle draw and win two air tickets to Dallas, courtesy of Lufthansa/BMI and a five-night stay in the Rosewood Mansion on the Creek, originally the grand home for one of the South's most affluent families, retains the intimate ambience of the private residence it once was, and continues the tradition of elegance and hospitality for which the South is renowned.
Erik Huyer, general manager, Al-Khozama Hotel, said there would not be a better place to enjoy November's fine weather, a hearty, American menu and the best entertainment than at the Texan Food Festival at Al-Khozama Hotel.
