HOFUF — A child who was injured in an explosion at a fuel station at a town in Al-Ahsa governorate has recovered. Mohammad Al-Jobran was badly burned in the incident, which happened when workers were pouring fuel into a damaged fuel pump at the station in Al-Bataliyah. The explosion caused rogue flames to burn the child and a Filipino worker. The child's father told Al-Watan newspaper that a medical team at King Fahd Hospital in Hofuf has released the child after his condition stabilized. The medical team removed the top skin layer of the child's burned face. The father has asked for a medical report and a Civil Defense report of the incident. Both reports will be submitted to local judicial authorities. The hospital's medical sources said the Filipino worker is still in intensive care. Witnesses said the blast occurred after a Yemeni worker asked his Filipino colleague to change the filter in the tank without getting permission. The Filipino worker's burns were extremely bad. — SG
