ABHA — Police in Asir arrested a man accused of firing at a car and injuring the driver on the Al-Erqain ring road. Spokesman for Asir police Lt. Col. Abdullah Al-Shathan said police were alerted and hunted down the suspect even though the victim could not identify him. Officers were successful in identifying a suspect who was arrested within 12 hours of the incident. The suspect confessed to the shooting, while his companions who were traveling in the car with him have also been detained. Spokesman for Asir Health Affairs Saeed Al-Neqair said that the emergency unit of Sarat Abeedah Hospital received the victim. He was injured in the head and was referred to Asir Central Hospital for treatment. The 45-year-old victim is in intensive care and is reported to be stable.
