AL JAWHARAH, a 47-storey luxury apartment project in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, has been named as the “Outstanding Development of the Year” in the GCC. The project was selected by an independent panel of judges above many other stunning properties at the Big Project Middle East awards night. The award recognized a residential, commercial or industrial development in the GCC that has been delivered on time and budget, while meeting both the client's requirements and health and safety standards. Developed by DAMAC Properties, the region's leading luxury private developer, Al Jawharah is a sleek, modern tower offering a unique living experience with unrivalled design. The complexity of Al Jawharah's external façade creates reflective panels which disperse and refract light, creating an illusionary effect. “Al Jawharah is the pinnacle of refined luxurious living,” said Niall McLoughlin, Senior Vice President, DAMAC Properties. “The styling and design of the project will quickly make it an iconic tower on the corniche and to be recognized by our peers is recognition of the work that has been put in to present the highest quality design.” Al Jawharah was also recently highly commended, for the second year in a row, at the International Property Awards in the “Residential High-Rise Development” category and “Best Interior Design” category for the partnership with Versace Home. In collaboration with Versace Home, DAMAC Properties has developed “The DAMAC Residences” at Al Jawharah, a distinguished interior design concept for the top ten floors of the project that will produce the most exclusive residential apartments in the Kingdom. The iconic tower provides three, two and one bedroom apartments. Work has already been completed on the Versace Home designed dedicated lobby to the DAMAC Residences and the show home is now available for viewings. “The judges felt that Al Jawharah stood out against its competitors for delivering a high quality project, in budget and on time with exemplary standards of quality and finish,” added Stephen White, group editor, Big Project Middle East. “The project will help to reshape the market in Saudi Arabia and is one of the most anticipated projects of next year.” The project has already passed the 30-storey mark and is scheduled for completion before the end of next year, with the limited release of Versace Home designed interiors anticipated to be completed by the second quarter of 2014. DAMAC is well established in Saudi Arabia, having been one of the first international developers to be granted a license to develop and sell properties. DAMAC has completed 37 buildings to date with 7,817 units and spanning 13,945,299.00 sq feet. — SG
