JEDDAH — Obhur International School recently conducted a tables-a-thon for all the grades in their school premises. The students were divided into two teams called as Fatima House and Hajira House. The purpose of tables-a-thon was to encourage the students to memorize the tables because multiplication is the building block in Maths. According to a Maths' teacher, if a student doesn't know the tables by heart then they can lose confidence and fall behind in the subject. The students were also taught different multiplication strategies prior to the competition. Tables-a-thon was organized by co-ordinator Nazima Zafar. Maths' teachers Nazia Anees, Shaista Ammar, Sabiha Zubair and Muqadas Niaz also contributed their best effort toward making the event a success. Founder of the school Fatima Salihue and school principal Tahani Al Safri and Kindergarten coordinator Shamila Cader attended the tables-a-thon and appreciated the efforts put in by the staff.
