Muhammad Al-Ghamdi Okaz/Saudi Gazette RIYADH — The Control and Investigation Board (CIB) reported that it had so far unearthed 406 faltering projects belonging to the ministries of education, municipal and rural affairs, social affairs, finance, Islamic affairs, water and electricity and health, and the General Establishment for Technical and Vocational Training. The CIB has submitted the full report to the Shoura Council, which is scheduled to discuss the issue in its next session. The CIB's investigations place the blame for the delays on the incompetence of the contractors, shortage of workers and price increase of building materials. Each ministry will be required to justify to the committee the reasons for the delay of its projects being carried out in different parts of the Kingdom resulting in billions of riyals in extra costs to the government.
