DAMMAM — Customs officers at Dheba port foiled an attempt to smuggle 61,700 Tramadol tablets and 6.8 kg of opium concealed in two vehicles that were unloaded from a vessel. Ali Bin Sulaiman, director of Dheba port, said the officers discovered the contraband hidden in secret compartments in the two cars. Meanwhile, security patrols in Jazan thwarted an attempt to smuggle large quantities of weapons, hashish and narcotics. A police spokesman said the third battalion at Bani Malik detained two drivers and seized the vehicles used in smuggling 506 pieces of pistols and live ammunition in addition to 575 Captagon pills.
