RIYADH — Etihad Etisalat “Mobily” announced it has successfully launched the first LTE data roaming as part of its continued efforts to provide the best customer experience and to maintain its leadership in data. Mobily's CEO Khalid Bin Omar Al Kaf said “Achieving the first LTE data roaming is another milestone for the Saudi telecommunication and IT sector in general, and Mobily in particular” Al Kaf added that Mobily customers will be able to use the fastest data speed based on LTE during their travel outside the country. “ Few months ago, we have signed roaming agreement with Hong Kong's CSL before we conducted several technical tests, the interconnection between Mobily and CSL came through Telstra company in Australia” Al Kaf added. LTE data roaming will let Mobily customers to enjoy the best quality and speed of data while roaming on other operators. Mobily said that it will leverage on its strong partnership with the other carriers to make the LTE data roaming available for Mobily customers wherever they travel. Part of Mobily five-year strategy, the company focuses to achieve “ GED” which stands for Growth, Efficiency and Differentiation. The company is committed to enrich its customers' lives and to maintain its leadership in applications and data. Mobily was the first operator in the region to rollout 4G after it signed contracts with two vendors in 2010, the company made the service live in September 2011 ahead of its competitors. Mobily's LTE covers now more than 33 cities across the wide Kingdom representing about 85 percent of the populated areas. — SG
