JEDDAH – The Golden Award was conferred on the Red Sea Mall by the International Council for Shopping Centers in Middle East and North Africa, in a clear sign of the booming shopping center industry in Saudi Arabia. The Mall received the award for the best marketing campaign, beating major centers locally and regionally. Red Sea Mall was proclaimed winner in the International Shopping Centers Conference held in Dubai on Nov. 12. The conference is considered the only event in the region that is specialized in retail real estate. On receiving the award, Mohammad Alawi, CEO of Red Sea Markets Corporation, proprietor of Red Sea Mall in Jeddah, expressed his happiness for receiving the notable award. “It is a proof of what the Red Sea Mall has achieved not only in the Kingdom, but regionally too,” Alawi said. He added that this achievement is a result of the teamwork among all the mall sectors. “It inspires us to keep chasing our target. Our Saudi cadre worked accurately and constantly to market for the mall and to design the promotional campaigns that attracted visitors and shoppers. They turned our mall to be the main shopping and entertainment destination,” he said. He said Red Sea Mall's variety and the great number of international brands in addition to the endless activities held inside it would help Jeddah to be a pioneering tourist and investment destination. “Our ambitions are not normal. We are inspired by the Saudi families and we are aiming to create enjoyable shopping environment for the family members. We will provide them with all what they need under one roof,” he said. Red Sea Mall winning of the award enlisted it in the Golden VIVA list for best shopping centers in the world. The List will be announced by International Center for Shopping Centers in the Middle East and North Africa in Las Vegas in the United States in May 2013. — SG
